Showing support for our neighbors is something we strive to do not just during the holiday season, but any time of year. To jump start the holidays, our Fort Wayne team united to make this time of year a little brighter - and warmer - for local children and their families.
For the third year, our team was challenged to collect new coats, winter gear and toys through November to benefit SCAN (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect) in Fort Wayne. Festive-wrapped boxes were set up at the Indiana Michigan Power Center, Baer Field, Spy Run and Northeast Service Center to be filled with items for families in our community.
“Through this opportunity, our team demonstrated the value of working together, and offered their own time and resources to show our community that they are supported by their neighbors,” said Rob Keisling, I&M External Affairs Manager.
The SCAN Winter Drive, sponsored by the AEP Foundation, strives to provide holiday joy for families with children as young as infants up through teens. SCAN believes that every child deserves to be safe, loved and nurtured. Through their organization, they served over 45,000 people through 41 counties in 2023.
