We work each day to power businesses and ensure comfort at home, but the time dedicated to those around us makes the biggest impact. Our team is committed to supporting initiatives that enrich the communities where we live, work and volunteer. In November, staff had the opportunity to support various local organizations, including:
- Volunteers from all three service centers in Michigan and Cook Nuclear Plant helped neighbors in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties as part of the United Way of Southwest Michigan’s “Rake a Difference” event, a free service designed for seniors physically unable to rake or pay for similar services.
- Volunteers from I&M put in the work to set up the “Holidays at Gresham” display for Meridian Health Services. With help from our team of 40-plus, and a 150' transmission bucket truck, what would commonly be a weeks' worth of work was accomplished in just one day.
- With the flip of a switch, downtown Fort Wayne is now ready for the holiday season. With tens of thousands of attendees looking, the annual Downtown Improvement District's La Noche de las Luces event did not disappoint – including I&M’s iconic holiday wreath.
- A park filled with light displays, a collection of gingerbread creations and elaborately decorated trees can only mean one thing: the holiday season is in full swing in Fort Wayne.
I&M is invested in working together to support growth and the initiatives of the communities around us. For more information on how we are powering the next community initiative, visit the community section of the I&M website.
